The law firm was established in 1990 in central Manchester by Stephen Lea who specialises in media, music and entertainment laws. In 1992 the firm moved from the city centre to its current offices in Bank Chambers Stockport and at the same time expanded its business to incorporate property and business matters.
We soon established ourselves in the South Manchester and Cheshire areas and the firm built up significant contacts and building up a significant reputation for both property and business matters. The firm acted and continues to act for many of those private and business clients (including property investors and developers) who first came to the firm in the early days.
Alan Berry joined the practice in 1998 as a partner to exploit both the firm's existing and his own contacts. Alan specialises as a Commercial Solicitor dealing with both property and business / commercial work. Previously he had worked for a significant Staffordshire Commercial firm and also was a partner in a large north Manchester Practice before joining the firm focusing on Property Development work and Commercial work.
Since 1998 the law firm has expanded both its clients and its work areas. Whilst we have naturally expanded the Property side of the business we have also grown a reputation for acting on behalf of the small to medium sized owner – managed business, focusing our expertise on assisting clients in both property and none property related transactions.
We have grown the Team and our services over the years with a philosophy of being results orientated. The partners have encouraged team growth from within and Claire Garside and Caroline Jerdin are qualified legal executives handling their own caseloads. We believe in investing time in our staff which has brought both parties significant rewards.
